The exhibition *Aspects of Post-Street Art* by Stefano Alvino has attracted significant attention from the Italian cultural press, with coverage across multiple national and specialized outlets. Among these, the article written by Carlo Franza for *Il Giornale* stands out as a particularly authoritative and meaningful critical contribution.
In his analysis, Franza identifies Stefano Alvino as the initiator of Post-Street Art, framing the movement as a conscious and evolved step beyond traditional street art. Alvino is presented not simply as an urban artist, but as an innovator of contemporary art, capable of transforming the visual language of the street into a structured artistic vision that engages with institutional spaces and critical discourse.
Alongside *Il Giornale*, other major publications have also highlighted the exhibition and its cultural relevance, confirming the growing recognition of Post-Street Art as a distinct artistic movement. This collective media attention reinforces Alvino’s role in redefining the boundaries of contemporary art, positioning his work at the intersection of public art, painting, and global visual culture.

Alzano Lombardo (BG) - Italy
Nov. 2025
Held during the Feast of San Martino, the most important annual celebration of the Municipality of Alzano Lombardo, this two-day exhibition represents a significant moment in Stefano Alvino’s artistic journey following the Florence Biennale 2025. The event took place within the framework of the San Martino Fair, deeply rooted in the cultural identity of the city and dedicated to its patron saint.
The exhibition presented two works. The first, *Alichino the Demon*, was created and previously exhibited for the Florence Biennale 2025, marking a key step in Alvino’s international exhibition path. The second work, unveiled exclusively in preview, was presented for the first time on this occasion in anticipation of the exhibition curated by Carlo Franza scheduled for November 22.
This exclusive painting, titled *Disarmament*, depicts a rhinoceros voluntarily renouncing its horn, its only means of defense, as an act of peace and conscious choice. The detached horn is symbolically associated with a nuclear weapon, transforming it into a universal metaphor for disarmament, both political and existential. The smiling figure of the rhinoceros rises above the world as a declaration of peace, love for humanity, and the rejection of violence as a guiding principle of life.
The conceptual foundation of *Disarmament* originates from an idea by Francesco Bombelli, who invited the artist to interpret the theme of peace and voluntary disarmament through a powerful and accessible visual language. The result is an emblematic work that reinforces Alvino’s role as an innovator within contemporary art, capable of translating ethical and political reflection into strong, universal imagery.

At the Florence Biennale 2025, Stefano Alvino presents *Alichino the Demon*, a work that brings a medieval literary figure into contemporary visual culture. The painting draws inspiration from Alichino, one of the Malebranche demons described by Dante Alighieri in the *Divine Comedy*, transforming an ancient legend into a modern icon.
Alvino reinterprets the character through a visual language rooted in contemporary art while drawing on classical and historical studies of the original figure. By combining references to Dante’s narrative with bold colors, simplified forms, and symbolic tension, the artist bridges centuries of cultural heritage with present-day expression.
This painting represents a turning point in Alvino’s artistic path. *Alichino the Demon* stands as a work of strong relevance and clear separation from his earlier production, marking a decisive shift toward a more mature, professional, and innovative visual approach. It functions as a key moment of stylistic transition, where the artist consolidates his research into a refined and contemporary language.
The result is an iconic image that transcends its literary origin, positioning Alichino not only as a character from medieval imagination but as a powerful symbol for today’s world. Through this work, Alvino demonstrates how ancient mythology and classical literature can be reactivated within contemporary art, reinforcing his role as an innovator capable of connecting historical depth with modern visual impact.

New York - Manhattan
May 2025
In May 2025, Stefano Alvino takes part in an international group exhibition at Galleria Azur in Manhattan, New York, marking a significant step in his international artistic path. Located in the heart of the city, close to Ground Zero, the gallery hosted the exhibition for one month, placing Alvino’s work within one of the world’s most influential cultural capitals and at the historical center of Pop Art and Street Art.
For this occasion, Alvino presented two works, *Godzilla* and *Silvione – Gold Version*, both shipped and exhibited in New York as part of the collective show. The exhibition brought together artists from different backgrounds, reinforcing the international scope of the project and positioning Alvino’s visual language within a global contemporary art context.
"Silvione – Gold Version" was created from an original concept by Francesco Bombelli, the artist’s longtime collaborator and agent, who encouraged Alvino to reinterpret the subject in a more modern and context-aware form. The result is a renewed and refined version of a previously explored figure, transformed through the use of gold tones and a more contemporary visual approach, specifically conceived for an international audience and the Manhattan exhibition setting.

Alzano Lombardo (BG) - Italy
Nov. 2023
Mostrami Alzano 2023 took place in Alzano Lombardo during the Feast of San Martino, the town’s patron saint and most important annual celebration, anticipating a format later repeated in subsequent years. The event was conceived as a local exhibition moment following the presentation of works at the Florence Biennale 2023, creating a direct connection between an international art context and the cultural life of the city.
For this occasion, Stefano Alvino exhibited *Elefante Filippo*, a work created for and shown shortly before at the Florence Biennale 2023. The exhibition was hosted inside Palazzo Felicioli, the historic municipal building and seat of the Comune di Alzano Lombardo, transforming the main staircase of the palace into an exhibition space open to the public.
Alongside Alvino, other artists from Alzano Lombardo took part in the event, each presenting their own works along the main entrance staircase. At the top of the stairs, the diptych created for the Florence Biennale 2023 was placed in a prominent position, becoming the visual focal point of the exhibition. The installation remained on display for two days during the week of the San Martino celebrations, reinforcing the dialogue between contemporary art, local identity, and institutional heritage.

During the Florence Biennale 2023, over the full ten days of the event, Stefano Alvino created a large-scale live painting on a wooden transport crate provided by FERCAM, a leading company in fine art logistics. The crate was donated to the Biennale by FERCAM through Street Lever Gallery, which supported the project by supplying equipment and paints.
Traditionally, these transport crates were destroyed after use, but in recent years they have been recycled and reimagined as supports for contemporary artworks. In this context, the object originally designed to protect and transport artworks becomes an artwork itself. Alvino’s intervention was executed on a museum-grade crate originally used for the transport of an artwork from the Musical Instruments Museums of Rome. The other crates involved in the project came from institutions such as the Uffizi Galleries of Florence, the Capitoline Museums, and the Vatican Museums.
For his contribution, Alvino painted a monumental giraffe using the red and yellow colors of Bergamo, his hometown. The work, titled *Bergaraffa*, was conceived as a tribute to the city of Bergamo, deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the years preceding the Biennale. Through this live performance, Alvino combined urban visual language, material reuse, and collective memory, transforming a functional object into a powerful symbol of resilience and identity.
